Happy Spring ! 🌻
Now that all the hubbub over the solar eclipse has subsided, let’s tell you about three shows in May. The Reid’s show is coming up soon so get your tickets now!
All fun stuff below, but first MARK YOUR CALENDARS đź—“:
This show is around the corner! Join us for two sets of our truffle-box assortment of classic Swing, Latin jazz, Paris Café, noir-inspired melodies, pop culture tunes, and originals! A lot of our recent gigs have focused on Swing (which I love), but it’s going to be FUN playing the bossa nova and Samba melodies, and what would I be without the moody noir melodies?
Wednesday May 1, 8 – 10pm
32 Logan Avenue (Eastern/Logan in Toronto’s East End)
(If that link doesn’t work, try Reid’s main event page). Seats are assigned on first-come, first-serve basis, so get your tickets soon!
The band features top-notch jazz musicians including Glenn Anderson on drums, Gram Whitty on bass, and Nathaniel Edgar on keys, and yours truly leading the vocals. Reid’s does make delicious cocktails and mocktails, and has snackables to go with these,
… and there’s a dance floor!
May 5 – Jazz for Sunday Service
On Sunday May 5, I will be performing music for the service of Don Heights Unitarian Congregation. It will be my first SOLO JAZZ PERFORMANCE WITH PIANO & VOX! 🙀 Your girl has been practising her scales and jazz chords for just over a year now, and is ready to test the waters with a solo performance. (I love the tunes, so the work is really worth it.)
Sunday May 5, 10am – noon.
18 Wynford Drive, Unit 102, Toronto
(North York)
FREE. All are welcome.
Those of you attending can expect a service of about 2 hours, with 3-4 jazz melodies interspersed amid the service. This will not be a regular “gig” with 45-minute sets.
The Don Heights congregation has always been very kind to me, and there are quite a few jazz fans in the audience, so I am really looking forward to this (and practising hard…) !
